Le défunt Uggie, décédé en 2015, est donc devenu le meilleur interprète canin des vingt dernières années en remportant à titre posthume, la palme des Palm Dog pour son rôle dans The Artist. Le Festival de Cannes ayant été annulé cette année pour cause de pandémie mondiale, la remise de prix s'est faite via ZOOM où Dash, la doublure d'Uggie, a pu recevoir un collier incrusté de diamant à la place de son défunt ami. 

 

Ce prix est distribué depuis 2001 pendant le Festival de Cannes, il récompense la meilleure interprétation canine dans un film de la sélection officielle, qu’il soit réel ou extrait d'un film d’animation.
